ACTIVITIES

Find out what activities await you if you are part of ALLIES

The training activities aim to provide postdoctoral researchers with tailored skill development, interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities, and practical experience through secondments, fostering their growth as AI researchers. Local and program-wide initiatives further enrich their development by offering language courses, workshops, and specialized events focused on advanced AI topics and ethics.

Objectives:

  • High-Quality Individualized Training in Scientific/Transferable Skills:
Each postdoctoral researcher undergoes customized training tailored to their research focus within the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Network-Level Training in Interdisciplinary Skills and Entrepreneurship:
Our program facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration by organizing workshops, seminars, and collaborative projects. These initiatives encourage researchers to explore the convergence of AI with other disciplines and foster entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Training in Intersectoral Competence Through Secondments:
Secondments provide researchers with invaluable hands-on experience outside academia, fostering a deeper understanding of different sectors.
  • Mentoring of Doctoral Fellows and Preparation/Review of Their PCDPs:
Mentors play a pivotal role in guiding the professional and personal development of doctoral fellows. Personal and Career Development Plans (PCDPs) are crafted and reviewed in close collaboration with mentors to ensure fellows receive tailored training and support aligned with their career aspirations.

Local Training Activities

  • Participation in Seminars and Workshops:
Early Researchers (ERs) have access to seminars and workshops covering diverse topics relevant to their research. These events facilitate learning, networking, and skill development.
  • Language Courses:
Language proficiency is crucial for effective communication in the global research community. Language courses enable ERs to enhance their language skills, fostering better engagement with international peers and resources.
  • Other Activities of Interest:
ERs are encouraged to participate in conferences, join professional societies, or engage in community outreach programs to enrich their personal and research growth.

Program-Wide Activities

  • Advanced Programming Tools Monthly Seminar:
Regular seminars focusing on advanced programming tools pertinent to AI research enhance fellows’ technical skills.
  • Intensive Courses in AI:
Comprehensive courses covering various aspects of artificial intelligence deepen fellows’ knowledge and expertise in the field.
  • Research-Industry Meeting on AI:
Events facilitating dialogue between researchers and industry professionals promote collaboration and offer insights into real-world applications of AI.

Summer School on AI Ethics

  • A specialized program addressing ethical considerations in AI development equips fellows with the knowledge to navigate ethical challenges in their research.
  • Workshop on Research Diversity:
A workshop promoting diversity and inclusion in research cultivates an inclusive environment conducive to collaboration and innovation.
  • Retreat for Personal Development:
A dedicated retreat provides fellows with mentorship and activities aimed at personal and professional growth.

Additional Career Development Opportunities

  • Participation in Conferences and Meetings:
Fellows are supported in attending relevant events to expand their network, stay updated on the latest research, and present their work to a wider audience.
  • Exploration of Any Other Relevant Events:
Fellows are encouraged to explore and participate in events aligned with their research and career goals to maximize their professional development.
